One of the highlights of the summer sporting calendar has to be the World Snail Racing Championships held at the annual Congham Fete on Grimston Cricket Ground.
Read all about last year’s event here for an idea of what to expect.
If you’d like to join in then you can either bring your own snail or you can buy one from the ‘Snail Master’ who also acts as the race umpire.
You then enter a heat and if your snail wins that heat you’re in the final!
The World Snail Championships is only part of Congham village fete at Grimston Cricket Ground held Saturday July 18th from 2pm. There will also be Morris Dancing, Live Music a Bar, BBQ, Games, A Tombola for Norfolk Hospice and much more……
It’s Free entry and all proceeds will go to St Andrews Church Congham. A great family day out. We look forward to seeing you there!
